ata eva namābhāse sarva pāpa vināṣa āra samsara kṣaya

Therefore, glow of the Holy Name can destroy all sins and earthly attachment. (Sri Bhakti-Rasamrta-Sindhu – Dakshina vibhaga)

taṁ nirvyājam bhaja guṇa-nidhe pāvanaṁ pāvanānāṁ
śraddhā-rajyan-matir atitarām uttamaḥ-śloka-maulim
prodyann antaḥ-karaṇa-kuhare hanta yan-nāma-bhānor
ābhāso ‘pi kṣapayati mahā-pātaka-dhvānta-rāśim

The person who is endowed richly with all good qualities is addressed here as Guna-nidhe, one who has got the aptitude to do Krishna nama, Supreme Redeemer of all redeemers, and the Crown of all avataras, Avatari. He is the Original Bhagavan. But, (chanting of the Holy Name should be done) with firm faith, I.e to say without deceitfulness, and immediately, don’t spoil the time. But with simple-heartedness you have to worship Krishna, chant the Holy Name of Krishna. Why? As the glow of the Sun removes all darkness, like that the glow of the Holy Name entering into the cave of the heart can destroy all sins and nescience.

parama pāvana kṛṣṇa tānhānra charaṇa,
niskapata śraddhā saha karaha bhajan,
jānra nāma suryābhās antare praveśi,
dhvaṁsa kare mahāpāp andhakārarāśi

Redeemer of all redeemers is the Lotus Feet of Krishna. But you have to do it without deceitfulness and with firm faith that by serving Krishna we serve all. That sort of firm faith should be there. Glow of the Holy Name, entering into the heart, will destroy all great sins and nescience. You will find in Sri Sikshastaka sequence of succession of pastimes of Krishna.

ei śikṣāṣṭake kahe kṛṣṇalīlā-kram,
ihāte bhajan krame līlāra udgam,
prathame prathama śloka bhaja kichu din,
dvitīya ślokete tabe hauta pravīṇ

First you have to practice the first verse and then when experienced you practice the second verse. In this way gradual development you will get.

chāri śloke kramaśaḥ bhajana pakkva kara,
pañcam ślokete nija siddha deha vara,

In the fifth verse you will find your own realized self, your actual relation with the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna. Without relation bhajan will not start, sambandha, abhidheya, prayojana.

ei śloke siddhadehe rādhāpadāśraya,
ārambha kariyā krame unnati udaya,

After getting the realized state then you can start your bhajan and progress you can see. How you can understand you have reached the realized state?

chaya śloka bhajite anartha dure gela,
tabe jāna siddhadehe adhikāra haila

Sixth Verse that is written, eight ecstatic feelings will be manifested.

nayanaṁ galad-aśru-dhārayā
vadanaṁ gadgada-ruddhayā girā

Ecstatic feelings like rolling down of tears, choking of the voice etc. will be revealed, manifested if you do Harinam without tenfold offences. And that indicates that you have got this realized state, otherwise not.

chaya śloka bhajite anartha dure gela,
tabe jāna siddhadehe adhikāra haila,
adhikāra nā labhiyā siddhadeha bhāve,
viparjya buddhi janme śaktira abhāve

Without getting the eligibility if you want to think mentally about your realized state, then there will be reverse result. Gradual procedure you have to take.

sāvdhāne krama dhara yadi siddhi cāo,
sādhura carita dekhi śuddha buddhi pāo,
siddhadeha peye krame bhajana karile,
aṣṭakāla sevāsukha anāyāse mile,
śikṣāṣṭaka cinta kara smaraṇa kīrtan,

By remembering, by thinking over Sikshastaka, by remembering over Sikshastaka, by chanting Sikshastaka you will get everything, all eight periods of the pastimes of Krishna will be manifested in you.

krame aṣṭakāla-sevā habe uddīpana,
sakala anartha jābe pābe premadhana,
caturvarga phalguprāya habe adarśana

Sri Sikshataka Verse 1:

ceto-darpaṇa-mārjanaṁ
bhava-mahā-dāvāgni-nirvāpaṇaṁ
śreyaḥ-kairava-candrikā-vitaraṇaṁ
vidyā-vadhū-jīvanam
ānandāmbudhi-vardhanaṁ
prati-padaṁ pūrṇāmṛtāsvādanaṁ
sarvātma-snapanaṁ
paraṁ vijayate śrī-kṛṣṇa-saṅkīrtanam

Chanting of the Holy Name Sri Krishna can bestow seven attainments – viz, cleansing of the mirror of the heart, extinguishing the forest fire of birth, death and threefold afflictions, bestow eternal soothing benefit like moonlight, life of spiritual learning i.e. awakening of the real self, increasing of the ocean of bliss, bestow at every step sweet taste of complete transcendental ambrosia, and thoroughly cleanse and cool one’s body, mind and real self. All glories to Sri Krishna Sankirtan!!

By doing Sri Krishna Sankirtan you will get all kinds of attainments, including seven principal attainments.

saṅkīrtana haite pāpa-saṁsāra-nāśana
citta-śuddhi, sarva-bhakti-sādhana-udgama
kṛṣṇa-premodgama, premāmṛta-āsvādana
kṛṣṇa-prāpti, sevāmṛta-samudre majjana
(Chaitanya Charitamrita Antya 20.13-14)

“By performing congregational chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra, one can destroy the sinful condition of material existence, purify the unclean heart and awaken all varieties of devotional service. The result of chanting is that one awakens his love for Krishna and tastes transcendental bliss. Ultimately, one attains the association of Krishna and engages in His devotional service, as if immersing himself in a great ocean of love.”

Thinking of Krishna-lila (pastimes of Krishna):

Everything depends upon thinking, meditation, thinking. Otherwise you will not get the actual objective,.Krsna lila cinta (flow of thoughts) should be continuous.

From distant places devotees have come here, from France, Holland and other places. At least for one month you should to perform this penance, contineously. Don’t give your attention to any other thing, any other aspect. At least one month if you cannot do it, then how you will have progress?

niśante kirtane kuñja-bhaṅga kare dhyāna
krame krame citta lagne rasera vidhān

It is devotional scriptural precept, procedure how to attain the taste of transcendental bliss.

At the close of the night, we should think about the awakening of Sri RadhaKrishna in the grove. You have to meditate. Then you will have the actual effect of doing this bhajan. Mind should be there, concentrated.

rātryante trastavṛnderita bahu-vira-vaibodhitau kirasārī
padyair-hṛdhyair api sukha-śayanād-utthitau tau sakhibhiḥ
dṛṣṭau hṛṣṭau tadātvoditarati-lalitau kakkhaṭīgīḥ saśaṅkau
rādhā-kṛṣṇau satṛṣṇāv api nija-nija dhāmnyāpta talpau smarāmi

At day break, at the close of the night, Vrinda Devi sends all the birds there to awaken Sri Radha-Krishna. Earlier she had sent the birds to a distant place so that they do not disturb Sri RadhaKrishan’s sleep. Now at proper time she ordered them you should go there and start chanting, chattering , chirping. Actually it is not chirping, they are singing the glories of Supreme Lord Sri Krishna and Radha and there is competition between them. Suk, the male parrot, sings the glories of Krishna more than Radha. Then the companions of Krishna are happy. But the associates of Radharani are discouraged by hearing Krishna’s glories. Sarika, the female parrot starts singing about the glories of Radharani more than Krishna. Then Radharani’s whole entourage are happy. And entourage of Krishna are depressed. Like this competition is going on, very sweet competition. By hearing that and also hearing the sweet songs of the gopis, first Radharani opens Her eyes. But, Krishna is not opening. What is the matter? Krishna is not opening His eyes because the Gopis are wanting that this female monkey, whose sound is very harsh, they do not want to give her permission, like this. But intentionally Krishna is not opening His eyes. We have to think here. So much love Krishna has got for all His devotees irrespective of position. No, her voice may be very harsh, but she is a devotee, you have to give her a chance to serve. Why you are not giving, then I shall not open My eyes, like that. Ultimately the gopis are forced to give order to the female monkey. Female monkey was always looking at the gopis, you are unable to do this duty, let me do this duty. No, no, like that. She was disappointed. Ultimately they are forced to give order and she made a screaming sound and on hearing that Krishna opens His eyes, harsh screaming sound. With wistful eyes, both Radha Krishna are seeing each other. They are afraid now we may be detected. Even though They are Supreme Lord and His Absolute Counter-part, They are making this sort of pastimes which you cannot imagine. And They run towards Their respective houses and go to bed, at Nandagram or Javat.
