Birth Centennial Annual of Om Vishnupad 108 Sri Srimad Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Goswami Maharaj, Acharya of Sree Chaitanya Gaudiya Math (Regd.)

Our gross body and subtle body, being the outcome of the material potency (apara potency) of the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna, and our real self, being the outcome of the spiritual energy (para Potency) of the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna, both belong to Sri Krishna. As my potency works for me, Supreme Lord's potency will also work for Him.

      Śrī Varāha-avatāra

Lord Varāha appears twice in one day of Lord Brahmā. During the Svāyambhuva-manvantara, He appeared from Brahmā’s nostril and rescued the earth, and during the sixth manvantara (Cākṣuṣa-manvantara). He appeared to rescue the earth and kill Hiraṇyākṣa. This is a wonderful narration of Lord's beautiful form and His transcendental pastime which enchants Brahma and all the sages.

On The Appearance Day Of Sri Varaha Deva

Lord's appearance is eternal and He also appears, revealing Himself in the sanctified heart of a Suddha bhakta. So, Srila Gurudev says we have to sanctify our hearts first so that the Lord can appear there. He then sings the glories of Lord Varaha Deva and mentions how Lord Varaha Deva appears twice in a day of Brahma. He joyfully narrates the pastime of the Lord's fight with Hiranyaksha who awards him the great fortune of getting killed by Him. In the concluding part, Srila Gurudev makes a very important point that if we get even the slightest of realization of any of the forms of the Supreme Lord, we will get completely attached to that form and will not be able to leave that taste at any cost.

      Śrī Daśāvatāra-stotram

The Daśāvatāra-stotra and Gīta-govinda, both written by Śrī Jayadeva Gosvāmī, are still sung daily before Lord Jagannātha Deva for His pleasure. The Daśāvatāra deities are worshipped daily in the Jagannātha Temple at Śrī Puruṣottama-dhāma and in many other temples across India. In the Vaiṣṇava lineages of Assam, harināma-saṅkīrtana is performed by singing about the appearance and pastimes of the ten avatāras. Out of the countless manifestations of the Supreme Lord, the Daśāvatāra occupy a special position.

Observe Ekadashi-vrata to Please the Supreme Lord Only

Srila Gurudev narrates the benefits of observing Ekadashi and adds that observing Ekadashi-vrata in Dham or in the association of devotees gives the highest benefit. He reasons that in scriptures materialistic benefits are mentioned for observing Ekadashi-vrata, is only to attract general class of people who are attached to worldly things to somehow or the other observe Ekadashi vrata and attain real eternal benefit which is to get the loving service of Supreme Lord Sri Krishna. Later, Srila Gurudev sings the Kirtan, ‘atma nivedan tuwa pade kari’, of Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur and explains its meaning.

'One who does not utter the Holy Name 'Nitai' - will be utterly ruined, being attracted by non-eternal worldly enjoyments and by acquiring so called worldly learning and family dignity.

        The Strength of Gaur-Nityananda's Name

Offenders committing offence to Vaishnavas and Guru are not rescued by uttering Holy Name, but again in this very kaliyuga, Supreme Lord appeared as Gaur-Nityananda. Even the offenders who committed offence to Vaishnavas and Guru, utter the Holy Name Nitai-Gauranga with firm faith that Sriman Nintyananda Prabhu and Gauranga Mahaprabhu are Grace-incarnate Forms of Supreme Lord, they will be rescued form the offences.

        Sri Nityanandastakam

I worship Lord Nityananda, the unlimited root of the tree of devotional service. He is like Agastya Muni who forcibly swallows the ocean of material existence, and He is the rising full moon which is the friend of the lotus flowers and which increases the ocean, which is the welfare of the saintly devotees. He is the blazing sun which removes the darkness which is the community of demons.

The Magnanimous Nature of Sri Nityananda Prabhu

Nityananda Prabhu is our only hope, He is so benevolent, so generous, so gracious, that very easily we can draw his attention and we can get his recommendation. Gaurangadeva will not be able to disregard his recommendation, and when we have got the grace of Gauranga then the Radha-Krsna lila is within our fists. Nityananda Prabhu´s grace means to get Mahaprabhu´s grace within our clutches and to get Mahaprabhu, means to get Radha-Govinda, Vrndavana, and then everything is within our fists.

Veda (Divinity Himself) is giving beneficial instruction to the sādhus—O sādhus! Rise up (withdraw your material senses from the material objects completely,) awake (be reinstated in your own real self,) and sincerely endeavor to know God, praying for the grace of great saints. This world is as sharp as a razor (full of miseries), and as such it is very difficult to get deliverance. It is impossible to cross the ocean of births and deaths without worship of Divinity. The realized saints say that without careful zealous efforts nobody can get God-realization, the panacea of the malady of worldly afflictions, i.e. nobody can cross the ocean of births and deaths without worship of God, taking absolute shelter at the lotus feet of Gurudeva.
