Birth Centennial Annual of Om Vishnupad 108 Sri Srimad Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Goswami Maharaj, Acharya of Sree Chaitanya Gaudiya Math (Regd.)
There are two significant aspects of vairāgya—(1) practice of detachment to non-eternal things of this world and (2) attachment to the Supreme Lord Śrī Krishna. As much attachment we shall have for Krishna, so much actual detachment to non-eternal things we can get automatically.

Srila Gurudev in his discourse says that observing Purushottam month is many more times beneficial than observing any other vrata. The Supreme Lord Himself is the presiding deity of this month. It is the most congenial month for the bhakti-sadhan. Even the aparadhas can be pardoned if we do devotional practice in this month. The presiding deity of this holiest month is Bhagwan Sri Purushottam (Sri Krishna) Himself. So, of all the months, this month is the most favourite of the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna. The sadhana performed in this month will have manifold result.

The first four limbs of sadhana bhakti are: to accept the shelter of the lotus feet of a bonafide guru, to take diksa and receive instruction on service to Sree Krsna from him, to serve him with intimacy and affection and to follow the path of the Sadhus, under his guidance.
