Birth Centennial Annual of Om Vishnupad 108 Sri Srimad Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Goswami Maharaj, Acharya of Sree Chaitanya Gaudiya Math (Regd.)
The Indian scriptures mention two paths - pravṛttir eṣā bhūtānāṁ nivṛttis tu mahāphalā - the path of worldly-mindedness and the path of renunciation. Conditioned souls are generally eligible for the path of worldly-mindedness. Persons eligible for the path of renunciation are very rare.

Srila Gurudev in his discourse says that observing Purushottam month is many more times beneficial than observing any other vrata. The Supreme Lord Himself is the presiding deity of this month. It is the most congenial month for the bhakti-sadhan. Even the aparadhas can be pardoned if we do devotional practice in this month. The presiding deity of this holiest month is Bhagwan Sri Purushottam (Sri Krishna) Himself. So, of all the months, this month is the most favourite of the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna. The sadhana performed in this month will have manifold result.

The Lord said to Arjuna, ''Now hear Me and understand the difference between the wise and the unwise. Being enveloped by nescience, a conditioned soul wrongly thinks the actions done by the three guṇas—primal qualities of external potency—are actually done by him. He thinks that he is the doer. This indicates an unwise person.''
