Birth Centennial Annual of Om Vishnupad 108 Sri Srimad Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Goswami Maharaj, Acharya of Sree Chaitanya Gaudiya Math (Regd.)
For getting actual fruit, you are to practice navada-bhakti as stated by Prahlād Mahārāj in the seventh canto of Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, or the five forms of devotion as taught by Śrī Chaitanya Mahāprabhu, namely sādhu sanga (association of bona fide sādhus), nāma-kīrtan (chanting of the Holy Name), bhāgavat śravan (hearing of Śrīmad Bhāgavatam), Mathura vās (residing in Mathura Dhām) and śraddhaya śrimūrti seva (worship of Deities with firm faith). Out of them nāmakīrtan is the best in Kaliyuga.

Purushottam Maas - I
Srila Gurudev in his discourse says that observing Purushottam month is many more times beneficial than observing any other vrata. The Supreme Lord Himself is the presiding deity of this month. It is the most congenial month for the bhakti-sadhan. Even the aparadhas can be pardoned if we do devotional practice in this month. The presiding deity of this holiest month is Bhagwan Sri Purushottam (Sri Krishna) Himself. So, of all the months, this month is the most favourite of the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna. The sadhana performed in this month will have manifold result.

गु-कारश चन्द्रकारः स्यात् रु-कारस तेज उच्यते
अज्ञान नाशकं ब्रह्म गुरुर एव न संशयः।
ajñāna nāśakam brahma gurur eva na saṁśayaḥ
The ‘gu’ syllable signifies darkness (ignorance) and the ‘ru’ syllable light. Therefore, it is true undoubtedly that the self-effulgent Parabrahma, whose light removes darkness, is guru.
