Birth Centennial Annual of Om Vishnupad 108 Sri Srimad Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Goswami Maharaj, Acharya of Sree Chaitanya Gaudiya Math (Regd.)

Our Most Revered Gurudev, before His disappearance, advised His disciples that the desires of wealth, sex-enjoyment and name and fame are the greatest obstacles for worship of the Supreme Lord. Votaries should give up all anti-devotional desires.

    Preparing Ourselves for Parikrama (English)

To get emancipation from worldly bondage you have to perform Parikrama. You have to engage your sense organs, mind, intelligence and everything for the service of Navadvip Dham. The transcendental Navadvip Dham, the spiritual realm is one with Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the most munificent form of Godhead. Navadvip Dham is all merciful. Without the grace of Navadvip Dham you cannot perform Vraja Dham Parikrama. You will not be able to see Vraja Dham.

    Glories of Vidyanagar

Coming to Vidyanagar, Sri Nityananda Raya explained to Sri Jiva its significance, “At the time of pralaya, Navadvipa, the eternal dhama, remains situated in its pure form as an eight-petaled lotus. All the avataras and fortunate living entities stay in one part of the lotus at that time. Matsya avatara carried the Vedas to Vidyanagar within Rtudvipa. Since the Vedas, which contain all vidya, or knowledge, were brought here, this place is therefore named Vidyanagar.”

As Nityananda spoke, they went to Jannagara where they saw the enchanting hermitage of Jahnu Muni. Nityananda Prahhu explained, “This enchanting place named Jahnudvipa is known as Bhadravana. At this place, Jahnu Muni underwent penances and received darsana of the golden form of Gauranga.”

Śrī Devānanda Paṇḍita’s Deliverance from Vaishnava Aparadha

Anyone who commits offences to Vaishnavas cannot develop devotion to the Supreme Lord by any means whoever XYZ he maybe. It is impossible for devotion and Vaishnav aparadha to co-exist simultaneously. Committing Vaishnav offence is compared to Hāti-mātā (a mad elephant entering into a garden and uprooting the creeper of devotion). The creeper of devotion will dry up and everything will be destroyed.

Mādhavendra Purī was a well-known sannyāsī of the Madhva sampradāya. His grand-disciple is Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Prior to his appearance, there was no evidence of prema-bhakti in the Madhva line.

      Glories of Godrumadvipa (English)

The Lord Indra, and Surabhi remained here beside a banyan tree, constantly serving the lotus feet of Gauranga. Therefore this place is called Godruma [go-cow; druma-tree]. At this place the devotees' desires are fulfilled. One who builds a cottage and worships here will easily become absorbed in Sri Chaitanya's lotus feet.

      Navadvip Dham Parikrama

Sri Mayapura and Sri Navadvip dham are not parts of West Bengal or India or a land of matter. Navadvip dham or Sri Mayapura dham has descended. As Sri Gaurhari is beyond our comprehension, His dham is also beyond our comprehension. By the causeless mercy of Sri Gaurhari, Gaur-dham, we can have contact with it.

Nityananda Prabhu speaks to Jiva Goswami, 'My worshipable Lord eternally resides at Mayapur, situated on the east bank of the Ganges. Although in the eyes of common people, Visvambhara took Sannyasa and left Navadvip to go elsewhere, My Gauranga never gives up Mayapur or Navadvip. The devotees can perceive His daily lila. You, Jiva, will also see Gauranga dancing.'

        Glories of Simantadvipa

Hearing Siva's words, beautiful Parvati quickly went to Simantadvipa. As she constantly meditated on the form of Gauranga and chanted His name, she became immersed in prema. After some time, Gaurachandra appeared with His associates to bestow mercy on Parvati. His complexion was like molten gold. He had long arms, wavy hair, and beautiful limbs. He was wearing a long dhoti folded thrice, and from His neck swung a garland of flowers, which was very attractive to behold. Parvati put Gauranga's foot dust on her Simanta (part in the hair) in great distress. From that, the name of Simantadvipa came.

        Glories of Madhyadvipa

The Lord was as brilliant as a hundred suns, and He attracted the minds of the yogis. He appeared with the Panca-tattva. How extraordinary was that form! His form had a beautiful golden hue. Around His neck was a garland of flowers, and His glittering ornaments illuminated all directions. His glance was beautiful, His hair was long and curled, and a dot of sandalwood decorated His forehead. He wore three-folded cloth, a shining thread, and His neck was decorated with a beautiful jasmine garland. Seeing this form, the rsis were enchanted and they humbly petitioned, 'We surrender to Your lotus feet. Please give us devotion.'

        Glories of Koladvipa

Seeing the vipra's devotion, Varaha sweetly said, 'O Vasudeva, as you are My devotee, I am satisfied by your worship. When Kali-yuga comes I will display My pastimes here. Hear My words. In the three worlds, there is no comparison to Navadvip. Though it is hidden now, it is My very dear abode. The scriptures confirm that all holy places such as Brahmavarta reside here. The place where Brahma performed a sacrifice and I appeared to kill Hiranyaksa with My tusks, that holy place is present here, where I have appeared now. By serving Navadvip, all tirthas are served, and by living in Navadvip, the fruit of living at all other tirthas is attained. You are fortunate to serve Me in Navadvip. When Gauranga advents, you will be born here again. You will see the maha-sankirtana and the astounding form of Gauranga.

        Gaur Hari Bolo Bhai

Hear Srila Gurudev’s ringing voice as he sings this transcendental kirtan followed by devotees during nagar-sankirtan in Dham, appealing all to chant Gaur Hari’s name and make their life successful. Srila Bhakti Pramod Puri Goswami Maharaj, a prominent disciple of Srila Bhakti Siddhanth Saraswati Thakur Prabhupad, would say that Nityananda Prabhu and Gauranga Mahaprabhu Themselves dance in the Kirtan performed by Srila Gurudev.

        Kirtan

        Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa Bol Bol

This composition is from the book 'Gitavali' by Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur and he is praying to the enslaved jivas of this world - 'You utter the name of Radha Krishna and you go along with us, then you will get everything.' It reminds us of the blissful pastimes of the Most Merciful Sriman Mahaprabhu and Sri Nityananda Prabhu distributing Krishna-nama and Krishna-prema freely to all the living entities as They dance through 'Nadia.' Srila Gurudev has sung this Kirtan during Sri Navadvip Dhama Parikrama along with devotees and the accompaniment of mridanga, kartals, khansar, etc. The Mahamantra kirtan in the later part is in a sweet soothing Vraja-dhun.

We are to accept that which is congenial and give up that which is not congenial for worship of Krishna; we should have firm faith that He is the only sustainer and protector; we are to dedicate ourself totally to the Lotus Feet of Krishna; and be humble by giving up all false material egos.

Just by Remembering Him, One Becomes Free From Millions of Births

Mahārāja also explained that only when a pure devotee is giving prasādam, whether or not it was formally offered to Kṛṣṇa with mantras and everything. If you do that you offer the formal mantras and go near the altar and all that, you still don’t know if Kṛṣṇa has eaten it. But when a pure devotee hands prasādam, you know Kṛṣṇa has eaten it even if it wasn’t offered to him, it was just handed to the pure devotee.
